Singin' whilst playin' can be tricky, and singin' whilst playin' fiddle, requires some concentration. Yes, I do sing and play myself, but to do those at the same time... well... I've only had my fiddle for about a month, and my fiddle hero is Jason Carter, though what Tim does is fab also (so I might also take a leaf from his book, aswell as that of Stuart Duncan)

A beautiful melody by Roger Tallroth! Sofia Karlsson has set lyrics to it and recorded it as "Alltid dig nära" ("Always close to you") on her album "Söder om kärleken" (2009), and Roger Tallroth plays guitar on it. A live version is here on RUclips.

i think what xms means is that there are other musicians who can do it. obviously, it's a very very difficult thing to do! first of all, there are very few fiddlers, second of all there are even fewer fiddlers who can do it! tim does a wonderful job of it. there are other, lesser known fiddlers who do a wonderful job of it as well and i think that is all xms is saying

it's hard to believe all of that is coming from only one instrument. he is amazing! someone needs to put more of his songs on here.

I saw him perform this at Fiddle Tunes 2008 in an unmic'd hall - I was at the back and could hear both the fiddle and vocals clear as a bell. This guy is amazing.

Absolutely! The first part is "Dry and Dusty" the second is "Duck River" (I have the CD). Brittany is indeed amazing. BTW she uses DADAE tuning on her five string for Duck River in case you are interested.

Brilliant fiddling, Britanny makes it look almost effortless. I like how she uses the entire bow. I understand the cello was a major part of traditional celtic dance music so it's nice to hear it in this setting. Great chops. Does anyone know the name of the second hoedown piece?
